UK Proposes All Paychecks Go to the State First

The UK’s tax collection agency is putting forth a proposal that all employers send employee paychecks to the government, after which the government would deduct what it deems as the appropriate tax and pay the employees by bank transfer. The proposal by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) stresses the need for employers to provide real-time information to the government so that it can monitor all payments and make a better assessment of whether the correct tax is being paid….FULL STORY HERE

Munira Mirza, a senior advisor to London Mayor Boris Johnson, said schools were being made to spy on nursery age youngsters by the Race Relations Act 2000.

More than a quarter of a million children have been accused of racism since it became law, she said…FULL STORY HERE

School Children Shown Graphic Sex Cartoon

Todd Starns tells the story:

British parents are outraged after a class of seven-year-olds was shown a graphic sex cartoon – a cartoon that was approved by the nation’s Department of Children, Schools and Families.  “The cartoon was very graphic,” parent Lisa Bullivant told The Daily Mail. “Seven to nine-year-olds should not possess this knowledge. There is no educational or psychological benefit or need for children of this age to have full knowledge of what sexual intercourse actually entails.”  And the video is very graphic – a voiceover describing the sex as ‘exciting.’  The school in the village of Lincolnshire defended the cartoon as did the local children’s services agency – noting that graphic cartoon sex arts are appropriate for children’s viewing.  “The DVD has been recommended for use in schools by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and is seen as appropriate for the age group,” director Debbie Barnes told the newspaper. “We are sorry Mrs. Bullivant has taken this view, but we are happy with the school’s approach in using the DVD for the benefit of its pupils and their education.”…FULL STORY HERE

Woman gives birth on pavement ‘after being refused ambulance’

Mother-of-three Carmen Blake called her midwife to ask for an ambulance when she went into labour unexpectedly with her fourth child.  But the 27-year-old claims she was refused an ambulance and told to walk the 100m from her house in Leicester to the city’s nearby Royal Infirmary. Her daughter Mariah was delivered on a pavement outside the hospital by a passer-by, just before ambulance crews arrived….She said: “I phoned up the Royal Infirmary, it’s just across the road, and they said to go into a hot bath, and then to make my way over there. “I went into the bath and realised she was going to come quickly. I didn’t think I’d be able to make it out of the bath, so I phoned the maternity ward back and told them to get an ambulance out. ‘They said they were not sending an ambulance and told me I had had nine months to sort out a lift.’ (UK – Daily Mail) … FULL STORY HERE

A Former Soldier Who Handed a Discarded Shotgun Into Police Faces at Least Five Years Imprisonment for “Doing his Duty”.

Details from the Surrey Mirror:

Paul Clarke, 27, was found guilty of possessing a firearm at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday – after finding the gun and handing it personally to police officers on March 20 this year. The jury took 20 minutes to make its conviction, and Mr Clarke now faces a minimum of five year’s imprisonment for handing in the weapon. In a statement read out in court, Mr Clarke said: “I didn’t think for one moment I would be arrested. I thought it was my duty to hand it in and get it off the streets.”

The court heard how Mr Clarke was on the balcony of his home in Nailsworth Crescent, Merstham, when he spotted a black bin liner at the bottom of his garden. In his statement, he said: “I took it indoors and inside found a shorn-off shotgun and two cartridges. I didn’t know what to do, so the next morning I rang the Chief Superintendent, Adrian Harper, and asked if I could pop in and see him. At the police station, I took the gun out of the bag and placed it on the table so it was pointing towards the wall.”…

Prosecuting, Brian Stalk, explained to the jury that possession of a firearm was a “strict liability” charge – therefore Mr Clarke’s allegedly honest intent was irrelevant. Just by having the gun in his possession he was guilty of the charge, and has no defence in law against it, he added….Judge Christopher Critchlow said: “This is an unusual case, but in law there is no dispute that Mr Clarke has no defence to this charge. “The intention of anybody possessing a firearm is irrelevant.” …FULL STORY HERE
